Matcha multi layer crepe cake

Of all things from the Japanese cuisine, I think matcha, or green tea powder, is by far my favorite, because it has such a wide use, I mean you can add matcha to almost anything; matcha crepes? check. matcha ice cream? check. matcha cookies? cheeeeck. matcha falvored choco sticks? check.

Ingredients (optional steps/ingredients in brackets)

Crepes :  

  • 3 eggs, preferably at room temperature
  • 500 ml room temperature(unsweetend) milk
  • 50 g sugar
  • 200 g flour 
  • 1 tbsp of matcha power
  • (vanilla extract)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter


  • 25 gr granulated sugar
  • 180 ml whipping cream(or substitute it with topping cream if you want a less-creamy, less-fluffy dessert)


  • (Chocolate chips/flakes)
  • More matcha 
  • (Melted chocolate)


  1. Mix the ingredients for crepes in a bowl
  2. Let the batter rest for ~2 h in the refrigerator
  3. Mix the whipping cream and sugar 
  4. Pour a small amount of crepe batter onto a heated frying pan and cook on both sides. Do the same with the remaining batter
  5. Set crepes aside to cool
  6. Spread each crepe with whipped cream
  7. (If you want the last layer to look completely green like mine, just mix matcha with the remaining cream before spreading it)
  8. Stack them atop each other
  9. Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 2 h 
  10. (Melt the chocolate)
  11. Dust matcha over
  12. (Add choco chips/flakes)
  13. (Pour the melted chocolate)
